I WOULD like to thank the very kind people of Salisbury who, when I knocked myself unconscious on the river towpath near Waitrose on Monday 11 May, rushed to my help and called an ambulance. The paramedic who arrived was wonderful - I think her name was Clare. Within half an hour I was in A&E at SDH and was put in the experienced hands of John and his team in Minors. I was then taken to Chilmark Ward and under the expert direction of the team there I was prepared for surgery. To the surgeon, Mr Sampalli and his cheerful team, I owe grateful thanks for their incredible skills in repairing what could have been a very painful debilitated arm. Thank you everyone.
