SO ONCE again the local CND float tea lights down the stream in a futile gesture.
They also allege that four in five local residents oppose Trident. I assume this was a canvas of people at the waterside.
I don’t remember them asking me. They really are in cloud cuckoo land.
Nuclear weapons are an ideal deterrent. They work, no one has been killed by a nuclear attack since Nagasaki yet normal munitions and weapons have killed millions since the Second World War.
I have an idea: why not float your tea lights next year for the millions killed by the cruel and sadistic Japanese during and before the Second World War? I assume you will not have achieved your aims and you will be back next year?
CND had a voice in the 1960s; they now have a whimper. Even the majority of the Labour Party is pro-Trident.
