I DO not doubt that the “tatty” wooden kiosk at the High Street Gate entrance to the Cathedral has seen better days and needs replacing: nothing lasts for ever.
So why not replace it with another WOODEN kiosk?
Why not involve the Cathedral’s own carpenters who would produce a kiosk made to measure and aesthetically pleasing?
If I was a traffic warden, I wouldn’t be seen dead in a PLASTIC box at the entrance to one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the world.
What is good enough for Blenheim and Highclere is certainly not good enough for Salisbury Cathedral.
Can a plastic box be recycled after twenty years?
