The amalgamation of many Doctors surgeries into one large Central building is not a step forward for patient care (unless you're an MP).

It is purely a cost cutting sham.

Is it being run now by big businesses?

Telephones go unanswered for 20 minutes plus, listening to an ear piercing racket and long winded speeches played on a wind up gramaphone getting slower and slower, no doubt hoping we'll give up hanging on.

Some estate surgeries close Wednesday PM and Friday midday until Monday.

Trying to access medical attention any time, and especially over the weekend, is virtually impossible apart from visiting A&E (no wonder they are overrun), and any ideas of a home visit is homeless (with appointments a week next Christmas), no matter how fragile your state of health.

Having been a patient with the original surgery for almost 50 years, to see it deteriorate into a cattle market as we patients call it, even having the audacity to take on other practices when they couldn't cope before, with prescriptions going astray and mix ups a common occurrence.

If you complain you risk being struck off and advised to go elsewhere.

Are the GPs actually aware of how bad the situation really is?

A patient.
