THE Salisbury and District Trades Union Council fully supports UNISON and UNITE as they battle against the ineffective cost-cutting exercise by the NHS Trust of trimming facilities by 'handing them over' to a Subco.
This basically means the transfer of some 400 staff out of direct employment of the NHS to a new employer, Salisbury Healthcare Solutions. We firmly believe this cost-cutting exercise will, in the long term, drive down staff wages and undermine the pension.
It is yet another example of our beloved NHS being privatised through the back door and we simply can’t let this happen.
The real solution is clear, I urge everyone who cares about our NHS to contact their local MP, John Glen, to ask him to stop this catastrophe from happening.
