The village has long been famous for its valentine postal service and although the Post Office closed in 2008, the village raised funds to bring back the Valentine Post Office service in 2017.

Resident Wallace Copp, who was born and bred in the village, said "It's lovely to bring back the vintage cachet stamp. I can remember it being used the first time around so it's extra special to see it once again on envelopes from our village."

Postmaster General, Nick Gibbs said: “It seems there is no stopping our tiny village of Lover “sending a little Love” to everyone, not just Valentines. February 14th is, after all, a moment of love for everyone to enjoy.”

Local artist Katie Dawkins who was born on Valentine’s Day has also designed a card featuring the mascot Stanley. The iconic road sign card has inspired their new and modern “Loverley” range and a preschool card designed by the children.

All money raised by the registered charity goes towards refurbishing the community centre and they have partnered with the British Heart Foundation to facilitate donations to the Go Red campaign.
