WATER works scheduled for Netherhampton Road next week are set to be delayed.

At the request of Wiltshire Council, the work - which will require traffic lights - will now take place after September 25.

This comes as the A338 between the Britford Park and Ride and the Harnham Gyratory has also been closed, causing "total gridlock" in the city.

These road works will be completed on September 25, but the closures will not in place on weekends.

The work on the A3094 (Netherhampton Road) will be being carried out by Scottish and Southern Power Distribution, and is described as "Fault locating , excavation and works to repair Street Furniture/Light cable fault, restore existing supply to network, backfill and reinstate".
