The areas in Salisbury and south Wiltshire where the most people have received the Covid vaccine have been revealed.

NHS figures, broken down by age group, show how many people were given at least one dose in neighbourhoods across the county between December 8 last year and March 14.

In that period, a total of 44,317 people in the Salisbury constituency received either one or two jabs. Of those, 12,217 were under the age of 55.

The newly-released figures are available at constituency and local authority level, but are also broken down by smaller areas.

These are called Middle Super Output Areas (MSOAs) and have an average population of 7,200.

For each MSOA, the data show how many people in each age group have had at least one vaccine.

The south Wiltshire area where the most people have received at least the first jab is Wilton, Nadder and Ebble where 4,990 people were inoculated.

Of these, 1,089 were under 55s.

In second place is Amesbury with 4,798 people being vaccinated, followed by Tidworth and Ludgershall (4,349), Downton (3,966) and Whaddon, Whiteparish and Winterslow (3,878).

The vaccine rollout has so far proceeded at speed with more than 90,000 under 55s being given the jab in the Wiltshire CCG area since the programme began.

However, supply is expected to dip next month due to 1.7m doses being delayed.
