A woman has been airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash on the A350.

Emergency services were called to the incident, involving a car and a lorry, at East Knoyle bypass shortly after 6.30am this morning (Thursday May 20).

The female driver of the car was rescued out of the vehicle by the fire service.

She was then taken to Southampton Hospital by air ambulance having suffered life-threatening injuries.

The road was closed in both directions at the Hindon traffic lights and Shaftesbury.

Police have confirmed it remains closed while enquiries continue.

Motorists are being urged to respect the road closure and find alternative routes.
