Police have now cleared the HGV that was trapped in the underpass under the A36 near Waitrose.

Wiltshire Police officers were earlier today at the scene, directing traffic away from the route leaving Waitrose car park, on the left.

Police were contacted at around 10.15am today (Wednesday, December 1) about the stuck Heavy Goods Vehicle.

In a statement issued this morning, a police spokesperson said: "We have contacted National Highways for them to attend and assess the road.

“Officers are currently in attendance to assist with traffic management.”
