Salisbury Charter Market is set to go ahead this weekend despite the disruption caused by storm Eunice today.

The twice-weekly event, which has been cancelled by adverse weather before, will return to the city tomorrow (Saturday February 19) with a number of precautions in place.

These include a reduced number of traders and reduced opening hours - from 8am to 12pm only.

The announcement comes as a result of the chaos brought by storm Eunice, which has hit most of the UK today.

In Salisbury, the storm has resulted in school closures, power outages, roads blocked and rail and bus services cancelled.

Extensive damage has also been caused to fences and roofs, with residents reporting a couple of near-misses from blown off tiles and debris.

No weather warnings are in place for Salisbury tomorrow but gusty winds are still forecast.
