WILTSHIRE Council have responded to Avon Valley's now-famous wonky line.
Admitting that the line was "painted in error", Cllr Dr Mark McClelland, cabinet member for transport, addressed the line, which has now been traced with black paint.
Cllr McClelland said: “Thank you to everyone who’s contacted us about these wonky line markings on the Avon Valley shared use path, which clearly don’t meet our standards and were painted in error by our contractors."
Unfortunately for some, both lines will be erased and we may not see any more squiggly surprises in the future.
“We instructed our contractors to remove the lines immediately, and we’re taking steps to ensure this doesn’t happen again," added Cllr McClelland.
'The Wonky Walk of Wiltshire'
Some Facebook users will be disappointed that the wonky line is leaving, Piers Mason said: "It's perfect. It'll be like the Leaning Tower of Pisa; but it's the Wonky Walk of Wiltshire."
Annmarie Martin, another Facebook user, said: "Think it's quite novel and a new tourist attraction!"
