POLICE have confirmed that a pupil at Bishop's was arrested earlier this week.

The Journal reported earlier this afternoon that a boy had been banned from school while police investigated online threats.

The student, who cannot be named for legal reasons, posted the material on a private account and uploaded it outside of school.

But it was targeted against members of the "school community".

Now Wiltshire Police has confirmed in a statement to this newspaper that it arrested a teenage boy on Monday (February 27) on suspicion of sending a threatening message and making threats to kill.

The force added: "The boy, a pupil at Bishop Wordsworth’s School has since been released on conditional bail while further enquiries are undertaken."
