A MAN who allegedly attempted to rape a 17-year-old girl in a country lane has appeared in court.
William Thomas, of Macklin Road, was in the dock of Salisbury Magistrates Court on Monday, June 5.
The 28-year-old was charged with attempted rape, possession of a bladed weapon and committing assault with the intention to commit a sexual offence on June 4.
This followed the incident, which took place in Mill Lane, Stratford sub Castle, on June 1 and involved a 17-year-old girl.

Thomas stood before Magistrates Joanna Cadzow, Jodie Mills and Ashley Denman wearing a grey sweatshirt.
Ben Worthington, from Crown Prosecution Service, presented the case to the court.
Thomas will remain in custody until his next hearing at Salisbury Crown Court on July 5.
