A weather warning for ice is in force as temperatures are set to plunge just as the city begins to recover from the heavy rain over the weekend.

Salisbury is set to brace for a cold snap today according to the Met Office.

Temperatures will feel as low as -4C with a dusting of snow expected from 7pm this evening.

The yellow warning for ice is in place from 3pm today until 3am on Tuesday.

A spokesperson from the Met Office said: “Parts of southern Britain are likely to see some snow showers during Monday afternoon and the first part of the night.

“Most places will see little or no lying snow, but 1-2 cm may settle in one or two places, mostly over high ground.

“In addition, some icy surfaces are possible for a time.”
