AN upcoming art trail has opened applications.

Plain Arts Salisbury has announced the opening of applications for the upcoming Salisbury Art Trail 2024, taking place from May 25 to June 9.

Building on the hugely successful Art Trail 2022, there will be revised and improved events, with a simplified application process, more marketing activity and more resources for participants.

As in previous years, Gallery 4 in Salisbury Library will be venue one of the art trail, hosting the 'Trailblazer Exhibition which will be free to Art Trail exhibitors.

The Trailblazer Exhibition will be packed with beautiful, original and exciting artwork, showcasing the creativity of talented participating members.

This year, for the first time, Plain Arts Salisbury seeks collaboration from local businesses to help promote the Art Trail by 'Adopting an Artist'.

Participating businesses would display a piece of artwork from their adopted artist, together with a biography, venue number and Art trail Catalogues.

The 'Adopt an Artist' displays will go up a few weeks before the Art Trail, bringing a taste of artwork to the very heart of Salisbury.

Those who are interested can get in touch with Plain Arts Salisbury at www.salisburyarttrail.co.uk

The Salisbury Art Trail Catalogue returns in the familiar A5 Landscape format but this time, with an additional enlarged pull-out map covering a larger area, to assist navigation to venues.

It will contain improved venue and art form information and include a loyalty card, rewarding those trailers who visit several venues with participation in a free prize draw.

Catalogues will be available in shops, the tourist information office, cultural outlets and from participating artists in and around the Salisbury area from this April.

Artists who would like to take part but don’t have a suitable venue or those who are taking part and have a venue that could accommodate additional artists can visit www.salisburyarttrail.co.uk to get in touch.

The Art Trail continues to evolve, with pop-ups, projects and group shows to look forward to.
