Harnham Church of England Junior School is 'delighted' to announce the appointment of the school’s new headteacher.
Helen Donnelly will join the school in September 2024.
She has wide experience as a headteacher in this area, having previously served as head of Amesbury Archer Primary school. More recently she has been a director of primary education at Magna Learning Partnership, a local multi academy trust.

In this role, her knowledge and experience have enabled her to support several schools and now, she is keen to bring that new level of expertise to bear, as she immerses herself in a single-school community once again.
The previous Head, Luke Coles, stood down last Christmas after more than 20 years in post, and Assistant Head, Ruth Fletcher has led the school during the intervening period.
The school has said it is 'looking forward with great excitement' to a new era with a new headteacher. Governors at the school added the were 'delighted to have been able to appoint someone, to lead the next phase of the school’s life, who has such wide experience, and such a deep understanding of what it means to lead and develop children’s learning.'

The Revd Michael Camp, Chair of the School Governors said:“Helen Donnelly will bring considerable experience and deep knowledge of children’s learning to her role as headteacher.
"She cares deeply about the children and about all the people who surround their learning, most importantly teachers and parents. She has a real passion and an infectious joy, and the Governors are delighted that she has agreed to be our new Head.
"A change of headteacher is a big moment in the life of a school and we are confident that, with Helen Donnelly as our headteacher, our school; our pupils, and staff have a bright and hopeful learning future to look forward to.”
Helen said: “I am really looking forward to working at Harnham Junior School. I have loved meeting the staff, the parents and of course the children, who are all clearly proud of their school.
The staff are all very committed to the school and working to support the children within it to ‘Aspire to Succeed’ and I am very excited to be joining the team!”
