A young farmers' group from Salisbury picked up a 'highly commended' award at the South West Area junior public speaking competition.
Salisbury Young Farmers picked up the amazing award at the competition held in Weston-Super-Mare on Saturday, March 8.
It was a closely fought contest with only 10 points separating all the teams in a weekend filled with fun and competitions and attended by young farmers from all over the South West of England.
Sophia Watson, the speaker of the team, attends South Wilts Grammar School and gave her talk on horse riding helmet safety with a particular focus on how to check if your helmet is up to standard and how often it needs to be replaced.
She was supported by Adam Damant and Jemima Wray, both of Bishops Wordsworth school, who acted as chairman and proposer of thanks, respectively.
