The fourth round of the MX British Motocross Championship will take place at Cusses Gorse.

The Saturday, August 5 to Sunday, August 6 event takes place just one week after the popular raceway hosted the British round of the World Sidecar Championship. The motocross teams competing this weekend were in Oxfordshire last month and will head on to the next round in Shropshire after the stint in Wiltshire.

Both the World Sidecar Championship Grand Prix and the upcoming British Motocross Championship round come bittersweet for Cusses Gorse, which is set to close for good on Saturday, September 30 after 22 years in operation, as the landowner has requested the land back for agricultural use.

Ian Webber of Jump Social, who assists the MX British Motocross Championship with public relations, said it was sad to see the track go but it appears the team is trying to go out with a bang. He added that many unique things about the track make it an ideal racing spot.

Ian said: “It’s so remote that there are no noise issues.

“It’s perfect for viewing because you can see the whole thing.”
