Taste Salisbury is bringing the community together for a celebration of food and drink.

The 10-day event, which started on Friday, August 26, has been organised by Salisbury BID, to celebrate the array of food and drink venues, producers and sellers that can be found in the city and local region.

This year's programme has a mix of events, exclusive menus and special offers which includes local Salisbury independent businesses, national chains and attractions like Salisbury Cathedral.

The Salisbury Museum, Dinghams, The George & Dragon, Cote Brasserie, Marks & Spencer and Craft Bar at The Salisbury Arms are just some of those getting involved.

Salisbury BID chief executive Robin McGowan said: “Taste Salisbury is a brilliant way for residents and visitors to support our local hospitality venues.

"We are lucky to have a vast array of food and drink businesses in the city and we’ve been thrilled to see so many get involved in events and promotions this year.

"As well as offering support to businesses, Taste Salisbury will inject a festival feel into the city centre as summer winds down. It’s the perfect time for fun, food and drinks, so gather your friends and head to Salisbury.”

Roly’s Fudge Pantry is selling a limited edition Taste Salisbury Fudge, which has bee exclusively made for the festival. The Explorer’s Gin and Lemon Fudge was created in collaboration with Downton Distillery.

“We love the idea of Taste Salisbury and were delighted to be included in the celebrations. We’re always looking for ways to engage with the local community, which is why we were keen to work with a high-quality local producer. Downton Distillery definitely fits the bill with their Explorer's Gin.”

Over the weekend the George and Dragon hosted its Cider Fest.

To round off the ten-day festival, Salisbury City Council is bringing back Foodie Sunday on September 4 with food and drink stalls, demonstrations and entertainment as well as the Great Salisbury Bake Off where talented bakers can show off their skills and be in with the chance to win a prize from Charter 1227 Catering or The Cake Forge.

Anyone wanting to take part in the cake competition will need to take their creations on the day. There will be three categories - 10s and under, 11 to 18 years old or over 18's category. Be there from 10am on Sunday Septemer 4.
